In many cities across the U.S., black and Hispanic families are most likely to live in areas where opportunity is relatively expensive, while white and Asian families are most likely to live in areas where opportunity is relatively cheaper. Black and Hispanic families pay relatively more in housing and transportation costs to live in neighborhoods with more opportunities for children.
